I am currently a team lead at Alter Learning, where I - along with a wonderful team - push the boundaries of what is typically imagined for educational games. With a Master's in Serious Games from the University of California, Santa Cruz, I aim to innovate in the gaming space and beyond by crafting engaging experiences that foster deep connections and inspire change. I am actively seeking opportunities to further develop my expertise in level design, systems design, and user experience, driving forward the future of impactful gaming.
When I am not designing or playing games, I enjoy drawing doodles of penguins, learning to play instruments, experimenting with food and spoiling my 2 fluffy cats!
Iteration is crucial to design. My primary skill set lies in designing game systems for both tabletop and digital games. I have experience crafting and prototyping game concepts, mechanics, and systems. This includes testing my designs and utilizing spreadsheets and flow charts to work through problems that arise. Sometimes games require alot of serious research and analysis. Beyond creating games for entertainment, I also have experience preforming research, conducting competitive analysis, and collaborating alongside team members and subject matter experts to design games with goals on topics such as Education, Mental health, training and social awareness.
Music and sound is a vital component to bringing games to life. I have experience in composing music for group and solo projects along with designing sound effects through foley and VSTi. Although sound design is not my primary focus, I am fully capable of creating temporary sound effects and music for any game. Check out my music in my portfolio below!
